Ħal-Lija is a quiet town in a very busy area in the centre of Malta. A bus-stop 10 minutes away from the school can take students to the north part of Malta or the eastern part of Malta.
Residing at the Residence is obviously very convenient for our students as they do not incur additional travel expenses and they also save time as the school is a flight of stairs away from the accommodation. Our students also have an added advantage as they have opportunities to interact with the long-term University of Malta students who reside here. These full time University students have a very high level of English and many are also native speakers.
Malta University Language School is a small to medium sized school with an average of 150 students in Summer and 50 in Winter.
The closest bus station is called Tabor (Bus stop number 3625) and stops a few meters from the school. Buses 106 (from University) and 54 (from Valletta) both stop here. A more central bus station is called Cimiterju (Bus stop number 1274) and is located a 10 minute walk away from the school. Buses 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 departing from Valletta all stop on this bus stop. For more information on the public bus transport system visit: www.publictransport.com.mt.
The School’s office is located on the same floor as the main classrooms of the school. The office staff is made up of the Director of Studies, Assistant Director of Studies and Marketing & Administration staff. All office staff are also teachers and can support students with any questions or queries they have. We function with an open door policy and students can walk into the office during breaks to talk with a school representative.
When you book your accommodation with a host family you could choose board basis. Host families are available as bed and breakfast, half board and full board. Some host families would allow students to cook their own meals, though not all host parents allow it.
