Idiom Corner: ‘Time flies when you are having fun.’
Meaning: We use ‘time flies when you are having fun’ when we are busy doing something and do not realise how quickly the time is going by. This usually happens when we are doing something that we enjoy and so do not look at the time.
Example: Two friends on holiday:
Christine: “I can’t believe it! It is 5 pm already. We have spent 6 hours at the beach! Where has the day gone.”
Ruth: “I know! Well, time flies when you are having fun. I hope this holiday never ends” ... See MoreSee Less
