An introduction to Japanese Language and Culture.

This course aims at teaching the four basic skills of speaking, listening, writing and reading. It  is also aimed at students with no prior experience of Japanese. Students will also be immersed in Japanese culture with the help of our teachers who are all the way from Japan.

Japan Foundation Standard for Japanese Language Education course outcomes: Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce himself / herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he / she lives, people he / she knows and things he /she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

The course will be assessed as follows

  • Reading and Listening
  • Speaking and writing
  • Engaging and conversation
