OVERVIEW

IELTS Exam Preparation Courses

IELTS is one of the most popular examinations for those who would like to study abroad or for those who intend to emigrate to an English-speaking country. There are two types of tests: IELTS Academic and General to suit the student’s needs. As many of our students wish to further their studies at the University of Malta they choose to take the IELTS Academic preparation course, with us. Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses require different band scores. Students may opt to take the test at the Malta Chamber of Commerce who host monthly or bi-monthly exams. Students are advised to book their test as early as possible. For 2026 the IELTS test fee is €250 and needs to be booked with the Malta Chamber of Commerce. Malta University Language School has been successfully holding IELTS exam preparation courses for many years and ensures that its courses are of a high professional standard. We recommend that students taking our IELTS Exam Preparation Course have a minimum level of Intermediate (B1). Students are asked to sit for an online placement test before they arrive to verify their level.

Lessons	45 hours	135 hours
Lesson Times	According to the student’s request	Monday to Friday, classes may be held either in the morning or in the evening subject to availability.
Class Size	1 to 2 students	6 to 14 students*

*The minimum number of participants to run the IELTS Intensive Course is 6. If there are less than 6 participants, students will be informed of the reduction of hours (according to the Reduced Hour Policy) or postponement of the course.

Course Fee

The course fee for any of the 2 options is €1780.

Other Fees

A one-time registration fee of €35 and a IELTS coursebook fee of €55 are applicable to every enrolment. An additional summer supplement of €35 per week is applicable for courses from 15th June to 28th August 2026.
