The weather in April and May is usually lovely - not too hot, and certainly not too cold! It's the perfect time for rambling in the Maltese countryside and smelling the wild flowers.

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd – The Great Spring Horticultural Show –€1. Held at San Anton Gardens. Opening hours Sat: 1400h – 2200h & Sun: 0800h– 2100h. Described as “Malta’s major floral and agricultural festival of the year!” The visitor to the show will also be provided with the opportunity to visit the historical ‘Russian’ Chapel situated in the Palace, as well as another chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar, built in 1771 by Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena.

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd –Local Feasts - Feast of St Joseph the Worker- held in B’Kara on Saturday. Feast of St. Augustine -held in Valletta on Sunday.

Sunday 2nd - In Guardia Parade –€3-5. Starts at 1100h. Lasts around 40 mintues. Held at Fort St. Elmo in Valletta. This re-enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment the fort’s garrison - some 70 re-enactors strong - is dressed in its best uniforms and demonstrates to the Grand Bailiff its military prowess.

Tuesday 4th –Sunday 9th- Valletta Grand Prix –Hstorical & Classic Car Event -This annual historic classic car event will run along the Valletta ring-road surrounding Malta's capital city. Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th- Art & Music in Zebbug

Saturday 8th- Supermartxe-Held at Sky Club, Paceville. The World’s biggest party show franchise SupermartXe will be coming to Malta for the very first time. They will introduce an entirely new clubbing experience to the island:  Ibiza music icons, performances, entertainment acts, foreign circus acts, a marching extravaganza of dance led by the YADA Dance Company and Boy George. The party show will feature top SupermatXe’s DJ Hugo Sanchez, ‘Who let the dogs out’ hit wonder Otneall Prise, world leading club and festival DJs Marc Vedo and Michael Sanchez and newest upcoming London Maltese DJ, Andy Luca. Sunday 9th - Healthier Living –Fresh Air, Exercise and Organic Food- €17 (child €9) Join us for a walk at the park followed by a vegetarian lunch at Il-Fuklar Organic Farm l/o Mgarr. The walk will take around 2 hours. The organic farm specializes in different wines and you will be able to tour the farm and learn more about sustainable and healthier ways of living thanks to organically grown products. Friday 14th – Sunday 16th – Lejlet Lapsi –Notte Gozitana- FREE. Held in Victoria. This annual weekend event in Gozo is packed with concerts, exhibitions, re-enactments, fireworks, parades and shows! It’s a great opportunity to enjoy this beautiful fortified city and experience some local flavor.

Saturday 15th- Pure 90’s:The Final Edition- €10-15. Starts at 2200h. Held at Numero Uno, Ta’Qali. This will be the last party from Pure Promotions – and is intending on being HUGE!  Host DJ Ruby will kick with beats from between 1990-1999! Thursday 20th – Football –Malta Vs English - FIFA Women's World Cup group 5 qualifier. More info:  www.mfa.com.mt. Held at Centenary Stadium, Ta' Qali.

Tuesday 21st – Spanish Music and Dance -€25-30. Held at the City Theatre in Old Bakery Street, Valletta. Starts at 2000h. Fund raising activity for the YWCA “Self Development Programme”.

Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd- Spring Ricottafest-Held in Kirkop. This event will illustrate and revalorise the past traditional craft of irkotta production as in contrast with its present modern production. An events programme will center round an open air dairy cow unit and a small sheep / goats pen will be set up in the core of the village. Gastronomists , teachers, Production Lecturers and students  from the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) will be showing the process of artisan  irkotta making as well as  preparing typical food with irkotta as the main ingredient.  The food prepared will then be sold to the public.

Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th- Art in the Open- Held in Marsascala. Artists and artisans will give first hand information on how they work their crafts.  Activities include an exhibition of old small carpentry tools, artisan stalls, folk dancing groups.
